Strasbourg (originating from the German word Straßburg, meaning the city of roads) is situated right on the border with Germany and is not far from Switzerland or Luxembourg.
Rich in history and culture, (Alsatian dialect, buildings and cuisine…) today, Strasbourg is an extremely dynamic city with more than 50,000 students. It’s the most important university town in Eastern France, with one in every 5 students a foreigner.
Currently named the European Capital, Strasbourg is a very accessible city, having a direct TGV (train) line to Paris in place since 2006. There are also numerous bus and tram routes, as well as the largest circuit of cycle paths in France, meaning that people can easily travel throughout the whole city without the need for a car.
